So the biggest question left is how  to help, and  my answer would be to do thing that Japan wont do, and that would be spreading awareness. Recently I have just joined a group called anonymous. anonymous is an online group with the purpose of sharing and discussing the news pieces that governments is failing to tell you, including Fukishima. Joining this group now lets me share my views on Fukishima so I can spread nearness to people who did not know before
  Anonymous
So I think that it is safe to say that the Japanese handling of Fukishima has been quite awful. They will lie to their people and strike down anyone who opposes them and unfortunately not too many people are informed about this because it is censored, so awareness about this topic is small.Just trying to find information for the blog was impossible. I had to spend hours trying to find news stories. Nobody should live in a society where their government does not tell them the truth and that is why I care so much about this topic. I am proud to live in a country where I cant obtain the truth and not be lied to, and I truly believe that everybody should obtain that right.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's government is planning a state secrets act that critics say could reduce public access to information on a wide range of issues, including the Fukushima nuclear crisis.Independent  journalists who oppose the government could be convicted under it and face 10 years in jail. Basically, this bill raises the possibility that the kind of information about which the public should be informed is kept secret eternally. Journalists ability to try and uncover the truths about Fuksihima is now severely crippled because finding the truth about Fukishima is definitely not worth 10 years in prison.
Toru Nakakita, a Professor of economics and a Japanese Radio host had just recently quit his radio job. Nakakita planned to talk about the rising operating costs of nuclear power worldwide, Nakakita planned to say in his original script that “damages to be paid in the wake of a nuclear plant accident are extraordinarily high.” Japanese government knew that if this information leaked out to the public their will be an uproar of people agreeing with Nakaekita and questioning the government. But the show's program director intervened with Nakakita and told him that information will be offensive to the government and since Japan was in a election year the program director felt like this information would change the voting behavior. So Nakakita's speech was censored. Nakakita felt that programs excuse was a lie so he quit the show. I applaud Nakaikta for not let anyone try and tell him what to do
The Japanese Government has also shown a tendency to silence independent journalist who are not robots for the Japanese main stream media

The biggest question that has been on the mind of Japanese citizens s what is the current state of Fukishima. And the government is giving the same lackadaisical answer, by saying "everything is under control". But what evidence proves their statement? All evidence points to the contrary, Fukishima is still a very dangerous place, and tell me this, what if a individual who listens to the garbage that the Japanese government is giving them actually moves back the Fukishima because "everything is under control". He could suffer from dangerous nuclear effects all because his government lied to him just so they could protect them selves. It is honestly sickening

But we know that this is not the case. The Japanese government is straight out lying ! Every thing is not a-okay in Japan. Here is just a run down of the awful negative effects that occurred in Fukishima:
  • According the The World Health Organization, populations living around the Fukushima nuclear power plant there is a 70% higher relative risk of developing thyroid cancer for females exposed as infants, and a 7% higher relative risk of leukemia in males exposed as infants and a 6% higher relative risk of breast cancer in females exposed as infants
  • 25 times the amount of people living in the area had developed thyroid cancer compared with data from before the disaster.
  •  . A Brigham University Study  released last week found that a year after disaster, more than half of the citizens of Hirono, a heavily affected town near the plant, showed “clinically concerning” symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Two-thirds showed symptoms of depression
  •  CBS reports that in Koriyama, a town about 40 miles from the nuclear plant, many parents are still afraid to let their children play outside.
  •  the radioactive material released in the air by the Fukushima nuclear disaster has led to widespread negative effects such as population decline and genetic damage in the animals, insects and wildlife of the region.
The Government straight up insulted it's citizens by telling them that  everything is fine when if truth kids are becoming more exposed to cancer and wildlife is on the decline
The Japanese government appears to be working closely with both the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and the nation's mainstream media outlets to maintain the facade that everything is just fine, and that the nuclear meltdown situation is largely mitigated and under control. They want the public to know that even after a catastrophic even like a nuclear meltdown ocured, Japan is in great shape

So I think that we can all agree that what happened in Fukishima was a horrific event. When a disaster such as a Tsunami triggering a nuclear disaster happens it is the job of that specific government to communicate with the public through the media, so that the public can be informed of what actually happened so they know what to do next .But unfortunately this was not the case in Japan

Japanese officials trying to control the hazardous effects from the nuclear disaster
So to summarize, the huge earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station on March 11, 2011, knocked out backup power systems that were needed to cool the reactors at the plant, causing three of them to undergo fuel melting, hydrogen explosions, and radioactive releases. Radioactive contamination from the Fukushima plant forced the evacuation of communities up to 25 miles away and affected up to 100,000 residents

Before I break this story down I believe that it is very important for the class to have a better understanding of what happened in Japan.

For my blog project I decided to research the Fukushima nuclear disaster as a result from the horrific Tsunami that occurred in 2011. But more specifically, I wanted to explore why the Japanese Government has censored the news in regards to what occurred in Fukishima
